Two positions to work at the Department of Sociology and Social research of the University of Trento on an exciting project exploring the realms of political echo chambers, political communication and disinformation in Italy during the 2024 European Elections. The positions are part of the ECHO-BIT (Echo CHambers, Opinions and Behaviors In Italy) project (joint between the University of Trento, Prof. Mario Quaranta and the University of Torino, Prof. Moreno Mancosu), which aims at unraveling the intricacies of online and offline political echo chambers and their impact on political opinions and behaviors. The successful candidates will contribute to a multifaceted examination of political echo chambers across interpersonal networks and online interactions.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement: M.A. in Political Science, Sociology, Communication Studies, Information Society or a related field. A higher title (PhD) is an advantage.
Strong quantitative methodological skills are essential as well as use of R.
Demonstrated interest in political behavior and attitudes, political communication, and/or disinformation.
Experience with handling large datasets and a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with big data research.
Working knowledge of Italian and excellent command of English, both written and verbal.

Contract duration

15 months, from 01.03.2024

Remote work is possible (with an agreement with the PI of the unit, regular in-person meetings will be held).
